Common questions about GetInfraDesk.

Q: Is GetInfraDesk safe to use on production AWS accounts?
Yes. GetInfraDesk uses a read-only during scan, optional remediation only after explicit approval with only the permissions it needs. All fixes require your explicit confirmation. Production-tagged resources are flagged separately and require extra confirmation. You can also use "Preview" to see exactly what will happen before executing.
Q: Does GetInfraDesk store my AWS credentials?
No. GetInfraDesk uses AWS STS AssumeRole with a unique External ID. Your AWS access keys are never stored anywhere. The IAM role is created in your account via CloudFormation and GetInfraDesk assumes it temporarily when needed.
Q: What happens if a fix goes wrong?
GetInfraDesk is built rollback-first. For every action that can be reversed (stopping instances, volume migrations, schedules), a rollback option is available in Execution History. For irreversible actions (like deleting EBS volumes), GetInfraDesk takes a snapshot first.
Q: Can GetInfraDesk make changes without my approval?
No. GetInfraDesk never makes changes automatically. Every fix requires your explicit confirmation after reviewing the preview. The only exception is the EC2 scheduler, which runs on a schedule you define and approve upfront.
Q: How does pricing work?
GetInfraDesk offers a Free plan for 1 AWS account — read-only waste scan, AWS waste report, and up to 3 guided fix plans. Pro is $99/month globally or ₹2,999/month for Indian teams — 5 AWS accounts, approval-based fix plans, rollback path where supported, Slack/email alerts, weekly report, and priority support. Team is $249/month globally or ₹6,999/month for Indian teams — 15 AWS accounts, team members, approval workflows, custom alerts, SLA support, and dedicated onboarding. Cancel anytime.
Q: How do I update my IAM role?
Go to your dashboard → All Accounts view → Click "↑ Update Role" on the account card. This opens AWS CloudFormation where you can update the existing stack with the latest permissions.
Q: Which AWS services does GetInfraDesk scan?
GetInfraDesk currently scans EC2 instances, EBS volumes, RDS databases, Elastic IPs, Elastic Beanstalk environments, and Auto Scaling Groups. More services are being added.
Q: Is my data shared with anyone?
No. GetInfraDesk does not sell or share your AWS data with third parties. Your cost and resource data is stored securely in our database and used only to generate recommendations for your account.
